A/C compressor cycling is that normal?
The one thing I think is odd is the the clutch on the A/C compressor cycles no matter where the heater fan swith is located. Is this normal? I though this should only happen if the blower switch is set to A/C or Max A/C.
I also have a very dimmly lite battery light. The alt is producing good voltage.
I noticed from trying to read the wiring diagram that the a/c clutch has a diode somewhere I am wondering if it is shot?
Any direction would help
Keep an eye on the charging system, and if it works ok, I would not worry about the light, as long as it glows bright when you first turn the key and the engine is not running.
The diode is there to suppress the reverse polarity kickback voltage spike from the clutch coil when the voltage is dropped from the coil. If the diode was not working, the AC clutch would probably not work either.
