Hey gang.
I've been happy with my 302 in the 65. However my poor 302 is in need of some work due to spending time working at a dirt track, anyway i've been offered a 390 with 4 speed that was out of a wreck for free.
Questions.
Motor mounts? Use 6 cly?
Exhaust? Donor might have manifolds .
Will my 3 speed on the column fit to the 4 speed bell-housing?
Will the clutch plate work?
I believe the six cyclinder mounts will not work. The clutch plate is different. and i don't think the three speed will hook up to the four speed bell housing. As far as the exhaust manifolds go you will need to find some from like a 360, 390, and the 428 they all will fit.

The FE & I-6 used the same perches, if you have swapped in power steering you will need the drivers side from a later 360.
The angles are different at the manifolds on the exhaust and will have to be changed.
The 4 spd is a floor shift, so the column shift wont work
You posted 390 with 4 speed, so if it worked in one truck it will work in yours
This swap while cheap (for free) on one hand will be costly to make it all work on the other. You know your skills and probably can make it work. Someone converted it to a 302. You might find another 302 or 351W that woould bolt in much easier.
Well for free I tought it be worth it whent over to pick it up and it was gone.
Oh well geuss i keep colecting parts for the 302 rebuilt at a latter date.
