Air filter defect, FYI
I went to get new air filters for the two Rangers this weekend, got Puroilator A35192s. I went to put them in and found the lid closed to easy so I took a closer look and noticed the lid was not sealing tight. Pulled out the new one and compared it to the old one, same brand, etc, and found the gasket was only 1/2 the required thickness. If your replacing yours take a close look, just think about all the dirt that could find it's way into the engine if the air box isn't sealed. Ended up with Fram, not my favorite, but all the parts stores had the same problem with the others.

wow, just replaced the air filters myself in both the taurus, (same p/n) just happend to get a fram, thats all the local wal-mart had and didnt feel like fighting traffic & people to go to meijer just to get the purolater, (which is what i usally get for the air filter ) i thought the new filter fit a little better than the ones i took out but i just thought it was due to the old ones being in there so long....intresting.
