Radio Code?

My 1996 Ranger's radio needs the reset code. New battery was installed and wiped out the settings. Radio don't work. Where do I find this code? Anyone have experience with this??

Samr thing happened when i swapped batteries in my MIL's 01 Civic. Fortunately the code was in the papers that came with the car.

Other option is to get it from the dealer.
