so what other mods are guys doing besides these basics.
If it is the 1705 and you are on the 110hp setting, try backing off to the 90hp setting. I don't know why but I get better mpg and the truck feels stronger on that setting for me. I have read about this from others as well and that is why I tried it. Just my .02
Good Grief young man!!!! Please don't drive that thing more than GENTLY around town before you get the guages in. Then, watch the EGT like a hawk till you learn where it goes under wide open throttle, up hills, towing, etc. Keep it below 1200 F. Hopefully you will find that the mods you already have planned will insure that the EGT will stay down under most conditions except towing. If you tow, start out with the tow safe setting, then work your way up.
Hopefully, you haven't fried anything yet. Be careful. Enjoy.

PS: All these aftermarket programmers mess up the mileage displays on the overhead console. A bunch. It's because the programmer changes the settings on the two-stage injectors to add more fuel without "telling" the calculator for the console it did it. You have to fill the tank, record the miles, refill the tank, then calculate the miles per gallon by hand. The 23 mpg will probably go down to maybe 17 done that way.
