E4OD vs the 4R70W

Well, I was looking at my door tag and noticed the transmission code was an "E", and according to the door sticker decoder, it would have the E4OD transmission. Is this good? I have seen alot with the 4r70w and that seems to be the most common. The truck will be heading about 400 miles this weekend with 9000 lbs dragging behind it. It will be interesting to see how it performs. Let me know if you guys know of anything with that trans.

Have the same trans in the 98. No complaints. 110,000 miles. Tow a 6000lb+ travel trailer. Came as part of the engine/tow package. Really like the drain plug in the pan. Cost me a small fortune to replace fluid with mobil synth tho. 17/18 quarts.

The E4OD/4R100 is the heavier transmission. It is also used in the F250s and up, behind gas and diesel engines.
