First off this isnt my picture I borrowed it since I have no pictures of my truck.
Picture is from flatbed392 gallery.
Ok with that being said, I just put a doghouse on my truck,. i dont remember on my old one but you can see in the picture of the illistration that what ever its called hangs over the fender on both sides, and there is I would say a half inch gap in between there.
Next problem, the hood when its shut the drivers side sticks up past what ever its called (the thing in between cab and hood!!sorry) and you can push it down and it will stay, but when you open it back up and shut it, its sticking back up. Whats wrong, the spring bad or is it still not properly lined up. Wow one ever said doing this was easy.
Oh yea great tip I learned from someone after it was all done and over with. When taking doors off take a marker and mark where the doors are on both hinges on both sides, and when you put the doors back on it keeps you from taking hours away at lining up the doors to shut properly. Now I gota go fix some dents and dings in the fender where the door hit it when It shut.
**THE PHOTO IS IN MY GALLERY I WILL DELETE IT ONCE I FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM SINCE ITS NOT MY PHOTO***
Thanks for the help.

These ( factory die parts) parts are made to align in a close type way.
The cowl should be in place properly
You have lateral & vertical adjustment on the fender
You have lateral & vertical Adjustment on the doors
You have backward/forward adjustment on the hood
You have higher/lower adjustment on the hood
In my opinion everything gets aligned from the position of the cowl.
I'll take a pic of mine for you.
If the hood springs have been left in the UP position for any length of time, they will act like they have sprung.
If the hood has to be removed the hinges should always closed & taped.
I am still having troubles getting the hood just right. How much of a gap is there suppost to be between the hood and cowl. I still cant get the hood to stay down, on the back side of the hood over top of where the spring is stays poped up enough to notice easily, maybe I will get some new hood springs and see if that works.
I tried new springs on mine and they turned out to be worse than I had. There is supposed to be a trick or way to adjust the hinges so the back of the hood pulls down but I havn't had much luck getting it right.
It's kind of counter-intuitive, but if you raise the hinge/fender attachment point, that causes the hinge linkage to "break over" its pivots and lower the resting hood position. Study it a little while and it should make sense. After you get the height right, then you can adjust the hinge/hood connection fore-and-aft to close or open the horizontal gap to where you want it.
When you are done, be sure to mark the location for next time!
Good Luck! Steve
The gap n mine is large enough you can stick your finger (between the hood and the cowl) but the gap is alot less at the grill and hood. On mine it is so much more obvious because the cowl and hood are different color.s

So does your hood coil spring come straight down onto the bowl?
So does your hood coil spring come straight down onto the bowl?
I dont know, but i imagine that i can work with it some more later on. Its at the body shop and its going to have the hood off so i will fix the gap when i get it back.
There is nothing odd with the gap you are seeing at the overhang of the cowl over the fenders. The fenders are not made to come that close to the cowl or hood when it is shut. Look at the area on the door where the groove is and the compare it to the groove in the fender. See the difference? The groove on the fenders is not as complete as the one in the doors. The top of the fenders are just a little shy of having the same height in that area when comparing it to the same area of the doors.
