I've read on here on all the quick fixes for blend door heater problems but seems that my temp control actuator is located someplace else on my truck. I have a 1999 F-150 XLT 4x4 and it is not located behind glove box. Would appreciate someones knowledge about this....thanx....sparkie
Does the temperature gauge get up to the normal range? Are the heater hoses hot?
A common problem on these is a cracked temperature control **** not turning the shaft on the control. Pull the **** off and take a look.
The blend door motor is under the center of the dash, behind the black plastic cover between the floor and dash. It's a real pain to work on.
Thanx for your reply Racerguy. Yes I have checked the control **** and it is ok and the heater hoses are both hot and truck comes up to normal operating temperature. Have changed out thermostat hopeing that would be the problem but was not. Couldn't locate the actuator so I can check to see if it is operating ok and getting power to it. Hope that once located I can get to it to try the quick fix that I have seen on this site....thanx again....sparkie
