Heater fan

04 F150 FX4

My heater fan only works on 3 and 4 now. I did a search and found some reference to a "fan resistor pack"
Anyone know where this is located???
Any other ideas?
Thx

you know, i have seen this before on a ford car, but the problem was within the switch, and not the fan itself..... just a quick thought to check.

Assuming the '04's are the same as my '07 diagram, the blower motor resistor is located on the right hand A pillar and has four wires in the connector.

Not knowing the history on these trucks, I would be inclined to suspect the switch too, like mattd17 said. That doesn't look like a cheap part either if it's the same as the '07 diagram.

Just to follow-up

Thanks for all the good info.
It was INDEED the blower motor resistor...located inside the vehicle near the "a" post...right near the blower motor and accessed by removing the glove compartment.
Took about 15 min. (actually took me longer to clean out my glove compartment) 1 plug, 2 screws.

$7.06 including tax.

Where did you purchase the motor resistor?
Thanks!
