Just curious how hard it is to remove the front bumber of 04 f-150 scab to remove the tow hooks and install a push bar? Any concerns about the air bag? Should I remove the fuse for them? Thanks in advance.
Why would you remove the bumper. Every push bar, grille guard, or bull bar I have seen only takes the removal, temp or permanent, of the tow hooks.
All it takes to remove a tow hooks is remove 1 bolt and loosen the the other.

all you should have to remove is the towhooks. make sure you dont lose the bootstrap that is inside the framerail it'll be a bugger to line it back up.. i just a short piece of stiff wire to keep it lind up untell i got the mounting brackets and towhooks started... i got a pic of mine in my gallery...
The bumper didn't need to be removed for this Ranch Hand. Just the tow hooks.
that ranchhand doesnt look like a knockdown type do you not have trouble raising your hood i thought this body styles had to have a knockdown type hence why i got a knock down instead making my own......but any how thats a tough looking guard to say the least.....

Okay. I was looking at my tow hooks and the bolts go up into the frame. I can't see anywhere except the front (behind the bumper) to get in there where the bolts are . A little more guidance here please guys. I just don't see how I can unbolt the tow hooks without loosing the nut in the frame. Thanks
There is a captured plate inside the frame that the tow hooks bolt to. If you look at the tow hook you will see two holes for the bolts. One is just a regular hole, the other is elongated and widened. Remove the bolt in the regular hole, and loosen the bolt in the elongated hole. You can now remove the tow hook and not lose the captured nut plate.
Ahhh! Now I see what you have all been trying to tell me. Sorry guys a little slow. Just remove the front bolt and loosen the rear. Thanks for the quick replies.
I have no issues opening the hood. I stick my hand in the middle of the grille to unlatch it, then pull straight up. It clears the guard by about an inch or two. Those Ranch Hand guys really know how to make the guards. I can take a picture or two of the clearance if anyone is interested.

unless your bullbar's mounting bracket is built like the towhooks at some point you'll have to take that back bolt out just take care to keep it lined up some how. it'll save you some aggravasion... just my experence...lol
