is it one that wraps under the bumper and bolts to the frame? or does it just bolt to the front of the bumper? If it just bolts to the front of the bumper it's not going to be that strong. The best bet would to buy a set of tow hooks..about $20 at your nearest auto parts store and install them to the bottom of the frame rail under the bumper.
it's bolted to the frame. i am interested in going to an offroad park that requires a front or rear tow point. Would they accept my push bar as a tow point?
I'm there ALL the time. I'm a trail guide there. As far as wrapping a tow strap around the tow bar. NO. It has to be a tow hook mounted to the frame or a D ring mounted somewhere. I also wheel in a Bronco II. 1986 with 3 inch body..4 inch suspension and 35x12.50x15 BFG AT's. The monthly rides are usually large groups 10 to 20 vehicles long depending on how busy they are. If you want to come up one weekend and run the park I'll show you around.
ok cool. do you recommend doing the monthly ride or is it better to go on your own? I just saw the website over the weekend. I'm all stock 88b2 except 30x9.5 bfg at's. so far those tires havent let me down but i've only had them 2 weeks. but i have been in some deep muddy puddles etc. but have no other experiences to compare the level of offraoding i have done. the woods i go to is actually a state park that has a bunch of atv trails. but since the b2 is small and narrow i can play along too. haha.
maybe i can get your e-mail addy and we can get together up there??
just show up and fill out a waiver form and pay admission which i think is $35 and then a flag $5..you'll be put in a group according to your skill level. I'll be doing the stock group.
