Has any one had Cooper Discover stt tires? How do you like them? Is their much road noise? I can get a good deal on 4 but wanted to make sure they are good first. Thanks
Funny you should ask, I was going to post this very question. The last issue of Four Wheeler did a review on them. They(FW) seemed to like them, reported very little road noise as far as mud tires are concerned. I too was wondering about their off-road ability. I saw somewhere that they have this "armor-tek" that is supposed to increase sidewall durability. We'll see.
I was just looking and it seems as if these tires have been discontinued? Anyone know for sure? It would kind of suck to have a flat and not be able to replace it.. I can get 4 new "31x10.50" SST for $200.
The Discoverer STT is the new tread design which is much more agressive (with sidewall lugs), whereas the Discoverer Radial STT is the old (out-of-date) tread design.
I am just curious as to how many miles you can get out of a set of the new STT's. Anyone got any feedback on this topic? I really like the looks of the new tire but need to hear more about performance and treadwear before buying any. I do know that the old Radial STT's wore down very quickly.
I have the STT's on my 95 Wrangler. I like them A lot, they have had pretty good life on the road, I dont put to many miles on the road but I probably have about 8k or so and the tires still look good and fresh. They handle great in the Mud also.
Edit: DOH Dead Zombie thread raise of the day for me I guess.
I have 315's on my 02 PSD, heavy *** truck, I tow max gvwr all year long and these tires kick butt! Quiet as one could expect from a road tire, can't hear them over the gentle hum of the diesel, not squishy when loaded down with weight, and awesome in the mud! BUY THEM! I paid 300 PER TIRE for mine!!!
