I'm wanting to get different tires. Mine are kind of noisy. I've got BFG AT's on now. I really like the looks of the Cooper Discoverer STT, but my husband thinks these will be much louder than my current tires.
Anyone have suggestions on a good looking AT type tire that won't be too noisy on the road, or should I stick with the BFG's?
I have about 1k miles on my Michelin LTS m/s and they are extremely quiet. Others have said they get a lot of miles out of them with frequent rotations. I will be towing with them soon.
Toyo Open Country M/T's here. I ran BFG ATs before these and the Toyos perform better in mud and offroad in general. They're a little squirrely on wet pavement but nothing I cannot handle.
As far as noise goes, I am in Southeast Texas. We rarely roll the windows down here as it's too freaking hot to. Because of that, I cannot hear the tires. Ha!

I don't roll my windows down either, i was sorry about road noise coming in the cab like i have now.
Never had the Cooper STT's but I did have the Uniroyal Liberators. I got over 60,000 miles out of them, but due to an alignment issue, they died early... if 60,000 miles is early!
Right now I'm running Hankook Dynapro AT/M's. They've got that tough look to them, are E load rated, and I get about zero road noise from them. Only 2,000 miles on them so far, but they did great towing, in snow, and in the wet as well. I'd highly recommend them.
Welcome back Pink, I was thinking of going with those tires to but the Cooper dealer said to me they would be noisy. He couldn't offer my a decent deal so I went with the Goe ATS. My next tire will be the Bridgestone A-T Revos, great tire IMO, good luck on your search.

The Hankook Dynapro AT/M RF10 (LINK) got a great review in Four Wheeler magazine. For the price I will be interested in them if I outlast my Michelins.

I have been running a set on my X for nearly 20k now. They are wearing great. Best winter tires I ever run. When my pickup needs tires I am putting a set on it as well.
I've been talking up my Firestone Destination A/Ts. They had a buy 3 get one free deal and I think they are really good value. The tread is aggressive for an A/T, but it's still quiet on the road, and they have a great ride so far.
Cooper Discoverer ATR is a great tire. We run them on all are fleet trucks and get 40-50K out of them if rotated properly, great it snow and off road. Thats what im getting for tires within the month
I like nitto terra grappler. they seem to be real quiet. I have had mine for about 10,000 miles. My dad has a set on his truck he has 70,000 on them still quiet. good in snow, sand, and rain. not so good in mud but you cant have it all in one tire. i have 35x12.50x18r in load range E.
I run the Cooper Discoverer ST and if you are looking for a quiet tire the STT is not going to be the way to go. The ST that I run is pretty loud but is wearing great compared to the Nitto's I had. I have ran the old Cooper mud tire (the one before they came out with the new STT tread) and it did great on my Toyota. I t went good and the tread wear was excelent! I will be going with the ST's again when it comes time to put some new tread onb my PSD. I have since went with some Dayton Timberline MT's on my Yota. They wear excelent and traction is awsome. If thee Yota doesnt get some Boggers next time it will be getting anothet set of the Dayton's.
