I'll bet he removed his windshield wipers to decrease drag and lighten up his car(more HP).He's just not telling us about that.

 

you know the same thing happened to me i was a light minding my own business when a new hemi ram pulled up next to me. He took off fast at the light and slowed down at the tracks and when i get next to him he revs his engine. So i floored it and so did he both of our pickups downshifted. from about 20 mph to 55 mph when we had to slow down it ended up my door was at his hood. My pickup has the 302 lifted with 33s and 3.55 gears i have a K&N 3" cat back. I did drive a couple at work and i dont think they are really that powerful. what is their deal suppose to have 345 hp feels more like 145hp.

 

That confirms it.The Hemi isn't what it is hyped up to be.

The hemi isn't all its cracked up to be I have long tube headers 2 1/4" into a single aero turbine muffler and out duals 2 1/2" and a K&N filter on my truck with a 302,going down the highway going up a hill running even with one. My friends 77 with 9" of lift with a well built 400 blew the doors off of one we were at a gas station he said that thing is slow and a piece of crap(fully restored truck too) shut that dodge down smoke rolling from a set of 35s it was great mr. hemi didn't even stop to make his exscuse.

Ok,no bull,no funny fish storys,My wife was driving me to work at 11:30pm in our 1995 Ford Taurus Stationwagon when we noticed the car getting louder,so I have her pull the car over only to confirm that the Muffler had whistled it's last tune,nothing I could do so we continued on our way.At the next redlight my wife could'nt resist reving the engine and seeing how loud it would get.Well it must have been the shock or maybe the noise because I never noticed the Dodge Hemi 1500 now beside us at the redlight.So this guy looks over and see's a lady at the wheel of a stationwagon making some ungodly noise so he decides to rev his engine up then drift forward towards the light while reving it again.My wife and I are no fools and knew exactly what was going on.Well to my shock the Ford Taurus beat that big bad Hemi redlight to redlight,stop and go for 7 blocks.Now I realize it was off the line and had it been open highway he would have spanked us but to a 4ft'11in'25 year old girl in a STATIONWAGON it was like winning the Lottery and you can see it in a Grin a mile wide whenever I mention it to friends so let this be a lesson to all the Hemi Dodge boys,watch out for the Blonde in the Taurus Wagon!!

 

Yes our dept only recieved one order. I do like fords, but this year our vehicles have had so many problems they might go to chevy!!!

I have to agree with you somebody mentioned beating a hemi truck off of the line that is like a moterbike racing a car. Two different catagories!!!! I want to see horsepower put too use and not in comercials where you know they are rigged.

 

We recieved a shipment of mustangs with 351s in them. I think those are the old ! 1995 and 1996 R models I know the 302 was standard amd 351 was an r model.

 

Well, that does it for me!I have heard enough about what dogs the Hemi Dodge are.I have decided to really show up the Dodge 345 HP Hemi.I am going to go stand at a busy intersection and wait for a Hemi to come along.I think I can beat one on foot.I'll let you know how many body lengths I beat it by.

 

My nephew has an 04 1500 Ram Hemi 4X4 which he has taken in and had the custom dual 3" exhaust and headers done on .

He has pulled it off the line twice now on a secondary highway beside my "78
F 150 4X4 which is a stock fresh 351M 2bbl and a C-6 with a clutch pak and shift kit, 3.50 diffs .

In the 1/4 Mi. I had 2 full lengths on him (no clock) and he was not gaining any.

I was already up to almost the double 00's on my speedo and shut her down there .

I do not know what gears he is running or if he may have crawled by after 100mph but he certainly has poop from the hole next to my old plug .

He is only 20 and would not believe I had not touched my motor as I have a reputation for never leaving well enough alone . I had to lift the hood and show him my stock components and good ole' Motocraft 2 bbl to convince him . That Ram sure does sound nice with those big pipes though . Almost like the old muscle car glasspak rumble . Does not help him beat a real truck though even with his plastic reduced weight and oversized tires . The Ford has 33" on it right now so our OD is about the same any way .

Those 454 Heavy Chevy's were the same way , all noise at the exhaust and
no stink from the back wheels . I think I've blown 5 or 6 of them off .

Oh come on guys, you cant be serious. You are comparing a hemi to a ford escort and a 95 taurus. Are you serious?

Now i have driven the Hemi, it is not insanely fast, but its fast. To say that a v-6 taurus can beat a hemi is obvioulsy a joke. Did you ever think that the guy in the Hemi, didnt even try to race a Taurus?

Or the story about the escort. Maybe your dad let you win?

What ever the situation there is absolutely NO way a Taurus or an escort can beat a dodge Hemi. Its not possible.

Ive raced a hemi reg cab at the raceway, in my Bronco and expedition. I got spanked. So I just cant see how your stories are true.
