hi guys i have a 198 ford f-250 4x4 and even after a tuneup the motor will ping going uphill, but otherwise on flat ground its fine, just when it starts working a little going up hill the pinging starts had it on the scope and the mechanic can,t see any probelms, the engine is so smooth that you can put a beer on it without spilling a drop, however the the ping is driving me nuts. any suggestions ? ....

Welcome to the forum.
It may also need the computer reflashed with an update program, some of the earlier trucks needed this to prevent pinging problems. This must be done at the dealer though.

the ford dealer here in penticton british columbia canada charged me 109 CDN or about 80-85...........

it runs the same i can,t tell any difference yet, i just got it out of the shop yesterday and will have to see in the next few days if there are any differences visa horsepower/ gas mileage etc.................
