Cool

Thanks for the ideas. I am going to start trying to track down anything that will cause this pip to malfunction and check the ground to the engine as suggested also.

Thanks GS, I did not know that. And sorry to dino if I had you looking for something in the wrong place. The suggestion was correct, but I did not know that they moved them after 91 (I have a 90 and all other vehicles that I have ever had that had the module, it was on the distributor).

It's too bad the the new module did not fix your problem. The module is _usually_ the cause for your symptom. Probably 90 percent of the time. Perhaps you have a bad wire leading to the module? I feel for you with that problem. This one is pretty much a Ford problem and plagued many of their vehicles from the mid 70's to about the mid 90's. And it's a hard one to find. Good luck to you!

It's allright. I knew where it was already. My 88 has it on the distributor also but the 93 has it on the fender well. I am going to have someone come take a look at it tomorrow because I need my truck and don't have time to mess with it. My 88 is also down right now due to a body lift in progress so I can't even use it for back up.

I had the same problems off and on on my 89 for almost 3 years. It would just fail as if runnning out of gas whether on vacations or little beer run trips. I would replace a sticking fuel pump relay and another eec power relay and maybe it wouldn't happen for a month or two. The module gets replaced yearly in mine as well. The wires leading to the eec power and fuel relay's can get brittle and loose connection so wiggle them the next time you are down and out. The ultimate fix, at least over 2 years now was the intank fuel pump. It would heat up and just lock up. Since I replaced it, I have not had a single problem out of my Bronco !!! Knock on wood. The rail mounted fuel pump can and has caused problems for me as well.

Good luck and let us know what your fix is.

I had the same symptoms in mine 2 years ago....
After replacing everything everyone else told me about, I still would get weak spark (99.% of the time when it was warm) Come to find out, my ignition coil was failing when it got warm....

$12 coil ended up costing me over $100, but hey those other parts wont fail for a long time....
