Power steering pulley removal? 92 f350 7.3

I'm not sure how to remove the power steering pump pulley on my 92 f350 7.3 L diesel. I would think you would be able to remove it on the truck, since there are several other components attached to the same bracket but there doesn't seem to be much clearance between the front of the pulley and the radiator for some kind of puller. Does anyone know the best way to remove this pulley so I can remove the pump and install another one?

Go to Auto Zone etc. and borrow one of their tools. I never tried it on my diesel but all the gas engines needed a special tool to remove the pulley. You can do it while it is still mounted.

Pulley, pressed on?

Thanks for the reply. Autozone was going to be my next stop if no one had any info on the removal. I assume the pulley is just pressed on since I did not see a bolt on the front of it. I also assume autozone will probably have a tool to press it back on with?

The same tool pulls it off and presses it on.

The new pump should come with a bolt to pull it back on.

this week i'm changing the ps pump on my 91 superduty. i looked at the bracket that holds the pump on and it is open at the bottom. i don't believe i will have to remove the pully to get it off the truck.

harleyjohn45, the ps pump will come off without taking the pulley off. But unless the replacement has the right pulley on it you will need to reuse the old one. I find it easier to do it while still mounted.
