Vacuum booster rebuild

Does anyone have any information on disassembling and rebuilding a vacuum booster unit? Is there a source of new diaphragms and valves?

At one time I found an article on the web but can't find it now.

i hate to be the one that has to break this to you but vacuum boosters are non rebuidable. once the are sealed at the factory they can not be opened or the sealing surfaces are gone. i was hoping to rebuild mine but then i took auto my senoir year in high school and the book said it the instructor said it and even in trade school and the university they said it. so im 100% postive they are non rebuildable. sorry.

Not sure where to find the diaphrams and valves, but they are rebuildable. Many old motors manuals and factory shop manuals detail booster disassembly. Late model stuff has changed and many boosters are sealed units. I know NAPA has a rebuild service, but does not offer parts. Usually cheaper to find a good one than rebuild a leaking one.

FWIW: What people say can't be done and what can be done are always different if doing it yourself can save a lot of money. I thought it would be near impossible to repair an OEM CPU. But, I was looking at repair info for a Mitsub. and found owners, because of the $1200 price tag from Chrysler, repairing their own CPU boards where the caps. normally blow up because of age. Big difference between $20 and a few hours worth of time and $1200.
