I was putting in a new brake booster and a vacuum hose caught on the booster hose. I have the booster hose, the mystery hose, and the modulator valve hose on a vacuum T on the back of the motor. Does this mystery hose go to the transmission?
A picture would help.
Some transmissions used two lines to the modulator. Whether that's what you have and that's where the mystery hose goes, I don't know.
nope, just one line to the modulator. Is there another hose on a C6? Like I said, booster hose, modulator hose, and this... On the driver side of the firewall, there is two hoses that go to a bell looking canister. These hoses go inside to the temp selector.
The mechanic that rebuilt my motor unhooked the oversized campbells soup can. Could this be one of the hoses that went to it? Would a vacuum plug on the tee help the vacuum problems I've been having?
btw, what is the bell shaped vacuum canister used for? what about the soup can?
You mean "ball shaped"? That's the vacuum reservior for the A/C controls up under the dash. The "soup can" is the vacuum reservior for the emission controls.

If you have any open vacuum sources, that will cause problems. Cap any unused vacuum sources.
thank you sir. I guess since I have the EGR plugged, I don't need the canister... I have the EGR plugged, PCV hooked up and working right, new modulator. so I'll unhook the hose and cap it.
