Stereo System

Stereo System
Hello again all, as I stated yesterday, I just traded my PSD in for a 04 FX4 standard cab. Really like the truck so far (have had it a whole 13 hours). The dealership could not find the owners manual yesterday before I had to leave for an appointment. I am going back this afternoon to pick it up. Anyway, the stereo system is quite powerful. Behind the seat is a "box" that is about 3 feet long, 10 inches wide and about 10 inches high covered with black hard plastic. I asked the sales guy (he was new) what it was and he was not completely sure. I am assuming it is an amplifier and sub-woofer. Am I correct in that assumption? If so, what kind of stereo is this? I am sure the owners manual will tell me something (I hope).

Does you headunit have the 6-disc and mp3 in white letters on it? If so, then you might have the audiophile system and that black box is indeed the sub and amp. If you get some pretty good bass without much distortion from the speakers in the door, then I would bet that you havethe audiophile. It is a really nice system especially being a factory setup. Hope this helps.

Thanks who1975, yes it does have the 6 disc changer and mp3. The window sticker said it had the audiophile system, just was not sure what it was. I listen to sports radio a lot (talk radio). Sounded like they were in the truck with me this morning. The PSD I just traded in needed this system to hear it over the engine! I can actually here my cell phone in the truck now! Nice and quiet in side. Maybe I will put in a CD and see how it sounds.
