I have a speedometer out of a 1950 f6. It has the 1st;2nd,and3rd gear shift points on the face of it. I have not seen any like it anywhere.Iwould like to put it in my 48 f1.is there a place that reworks your old speedometer and gauges at a afordable price? I also am still looking for a GM power steering box with 4 1/2 turns full left to right and a 5 to 5 1/2"pitman arm. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS ART
George THANKS for the info. looks like you come along way with earl. keep up the good work. I guess i should post some pics later on. I already have installed a 351cand tranny.Iput the f6 cab on becuse it only had 1 rust spot on the whole cab. that saves a lot of work.the f1had some rust on the floors that someone had bolted patchs over.they also had **** carpet over the entire inside of the truck.tall about a nightmare to clean off.will post pics later. THANKS ART
George is referring to me. I may have several speedos like that here. I take yours as a core to keep my supply of repair parts going. Click on my name and send me a private message. I'll look to see what I've got. If yours is decent, I may be able to get it working again.
I know the F3 trucks had the shift points as mine has them. I noticed the same year F1 does not. ANybody here with anf F2 that can fill in the gap for us?
There's been some debate on that. All 3 of my different parts books I have list 7RC 17255-A as the only speedo head for F-1 thru F-9 for 48-50. I've parted 6 or so trucks and I've found the ones with the shift marks in F-2 and up. Never in an F-1. What complicates matters is there were 3 different manufacturer's of the heads, and no parts interchange. There was S-W, King Seeley and one other. Even the face is slightly different on all 3.
I have both speedometers .the one out of my f1 cab is plain while the one with shift points came out of a f6 I bought for the cab.I might even put in a aftermarket one.right now it is just trying to decide what we want.
I just found 2 Clusters in a Bone yard with the "shift Indication" on the face.
Look around, believe it or not, they are still out there!
P.S. All the guages still work!
