I agree, I have an 02 Honda Accord and I think it is a great little car but that truck......................yuk. I agree with the above post about the GM avalanche . That is one butt ugly vehicle and the name suits it cause every one I see I just want to bury it.
As far as the Sport Trac , I wish it wasn't a Ford.
Wait didn't Ford have a unibody p/u in the 60's? Or is that different because it was bolted to its frame.
It wasn't unibody because it had a separate frame but the bed and cab was all made together. It didn't work because the frame flexed and it cracked and buckled the body.
It is one of the ugliest vehicles that I have seen to date. I thought it was a joke when I first saw it at the auto show, but I was wrong, lol. It will sell to people who buy vehicles like the sportrac, and avalanche. What kind of a truck motor only makes power above 4000 Rpm?
It doesn't only make power above 4000rpm. Thats why vtec is integrated into the system.

3500 then...
A quote from some rag for the 2006:
3.5-liter V-6 rated 255 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 252 pounds-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm
The peak HP is past that magic point of 5252RPM, where torque and HP are the same value, and the peak torque is at 4500RPM.
Without a supercharger or turbo, 3.5 litres doesn't make a whole lot of power. And it gets only 21 MPG on the highway. Compared to an SD that weighs a ton more with a V10 that gets 13-15MPG on the highway, and can tow more than twice as much, well... that little thing ain't no truck.

You are right, its not a 1-ton rtuck with a v10. Guess what the 5.4 liter in the 1/2 ton fords mileage are? Around the same as the v10 i believe. I am not defending honda, if i want a truck, i'll buy a truck. I just want to have the ford lovers realize things on both ends of the spectrum before making opinions. I would personally never buy a ridgeline myself. But a new dodge hemi or f-150 will be in my garage in the future.
I dont srae if "V-tech" is in the system. It doesnt produce fair numbers until way later in the RPM range. thats a car motor, and you cant deny that. Ive looked at both sides, and I stand my ground.
