I have a 95 F250 PSD with a dana 60 conversion and a 6" suspension lift. I want MORE!!!! How much could i lift it by using or making a reverse shackle kit. Anyone done this? Anyone have pictures? Advice?
I've always thought that they had the shackles up front, as every truck i've seen had it set up that way, and thus the reason for the kits, but maybe they're for the earlier trucks.
The "highboys" are set up like that, but I know that starting with at least '78 they started putting the shackle in the rear. Don't know why it took them that long to figure out it was a better setup. I'm no expert with the new stuff so I'm guessing the 95 is in the rear but it seems to be a safe ASSumption.
I don't lknow what years but I know they switched back to the front shaclkes on the newer trucks. A guy stopped by the other day to buy my tires and he had a 95 with front shackles. Makes me cringe looking at them,.
as far as i know from 80-97 all F250's/350's have the shackle in the front (of the front suspension) doing the shackle reversal adds anywhere from 2 to 6" depending on where you buy them and if you make your own. the shackle FLIP kit gives you somwhere around 3-4" depending on the size of your shackle... the smaller the shakcle the less lift you will gain.
Bet you two dollars to a donut he's still talking about a shackle reversal tho~
Holy crap. Granted, I was drinking last night, but even I did it. I meant shackle FLIP. I started this whole thing to clarify the differences between the two since people get the terminology confused all the time and there I go...
