Looking for a way to do a front shackles flip kit with a 5-6 inch lift to go along with my 12 inch springs. I have a high pinion Dana 60 going in also

Cutting and welding, my friend. I've considered using the front hangers and shackles off of a 78-79 f250, but they're gettin a bit harder to find in junk yards nowadays. That and I'm not really sure it's worth all the trouble (I assume you mean to put the shackle @ the rear of the front springs?)...whats wrong with the stock setup (other than a harsher ride)?

There is a company that makes this kit. They say it will fit an older truck with some front frame mods.

The difference is the crumple zone. Our trucks don't have them...

I think that's just the f150's...the 250 looks similar, but no "accordion" pattern for the crumple zone

Here's an f250 frame from that era (ignore the ranger body/mods)

...aaaand here's one I thought you'd find interesting (guess its from fullsizebronco.com)...

That's your kit being fitted under an 80-91 frame

Might want to google it before making any purchases to see exactly what all it entails, but it looks pretty straightforward. It IS a kit, after all. Here is the link that the pic came from, hope it helps!

Put your pictures up on a hosting site (photobucket, flickr, whatever) and use the IMG code to make 'em show up inline with your text.

Or, you can upload 'em to an Album you create here on FTE, use the same IMG code in your posts, or merely give links.

This should help:

What is a "12 inch spring". Is that 12 inches of lift? Plus 6 inches more from the axle flip? You have 18 inches of lift?

The problem is caster. If you dont have enough caster you get death wobble, like you are experiencing
