We have some F250's and Excursions at work that have the keypads for remote entry. I already checked the owners manual and glovebox for the little card with the entry code but it is gone. In the manual it says the pre-programmed code is on the control module. Anyone know where the control module is?
thanks
steve
On my f150 the keyless entry module is up under the driver's side dash. Its attached to the firewall and actually says "remote entry" the code should be on there. Hope that helps
I have a new 05 F-250 HD edition and mine did not have the card with the code on it either. I dropped by the dealer and a guy came out and plugged into the computer and pulled the code for me. It took him about 2-3 minutes max to give me the factory code. -jb
I will call my service writer friend tomorrow but there is a way to reprogram all the outside codes, turn the key on and off several time to reset then put in the new numbers, I will post what I find out tomorrow.
The factory code can be found on the module. The factory code will always work to open the doors unless you change out the module. There is no way to erase it. however you can add additional codes of your choice. The only way to add additional code is to have your local ford dealer hook up to it with a NGS or WDS tool. You can not change the code by cycling the key--this is only used to program additional keyless entry fobs (remotes)
Thanks for that, I did add codes not change the original one, You are probably correct on the system used, I did it with my Explorer and thought you might be able to do the same with the superduty but I guess not.
As per the owners manual you can program an owners code for the keypad. Let's say you want to use your birthday, it may be easier for you to remember, just follow the directions and set the code.
The OEM code will still exist and can be used to open the doors.

I did that on my own truck so I would have a more convenient number to use. Problem is the work trucks don't have the cards with the codes on them so I need to find the module with the number on it. I peeked under the dash on the driver side and didn't see it.
Anyone know exactly where it is on 04 F-250s and Excursions?
thanks
steve
Ford stopped putting the codes on the modules in 2002. If you don't have the card, then check with the dealer that sold the trucks new; they may have it on file. If you don't know who sold them new, then a Ford service department will have to pull the codes out of the computer. Depending on the dealer, this will cost between $0 and $50.

Great. These vehicles came to us from Ford, with a pitstop in Texas to have accesories added by inmates.
I guess I'll just keep staring at the useless keypad.

I had the same problem you guys had after I bought my excursion. The previous owner had never used the keyless entry and he didn't know where the card was or what the code might be. Anyway I did some quick math and found out there are a max of 3125 combo's to try. I labeled the keys on the touch pad like this:
0 1 2 3 4
12 3/4 5/6 7/8 9/0
Then, using the the top numbers, the codes go from 00000 to 44444.
I generated all the possible numbers using an MS Word macro with 625 codes on each page and printed the 5 pages out so we could mark off the codes that didn't work. Using this method you can solve the keypad code in just a few hours max and it's great for kids. I offered my kids 20 bucks if they could find the code and it took about 10 minutes last night. I know that was lucky but in the worst case it takes a few hours and the kids have some fun plus make some money.
I thought everyone might get a kick out of how the kids and I cracked the great keyless caper.
