Adding a keyless entry keypad

Hey y'all I'm having a but of trouble with pairing the keypad to the truck, its a 97 psd and when I put the truck in programming mode after jumping the 2 pins I enter the master code on the keypad and it won't pair up, tried master code and custom pin and it won't pair up. Anyone have any experience with these?

Did you click the compatible vehicles link? Doesn't show anything as far back as '97.

They have you covered here. That stick on keypad is for a newer generation of modules.

If you want a keypad bad enough it can be done by cutting a hole in your door, getting a keypad from a salvage yard, and running wires to the module. Not too bad. I did it and the parts cost me less than the stick on keypad (as long as you feel your spare time is worthless.)


In fact I posted some pictures of my install in that forum that was referenced above.
