Try to fix blinking overdrive light
So I did a search on the blinking overdrive light, it said that it could possibly be the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). I bought the sensor, installed it on the rear pumpkin, test drove the truck and the blinking overdrive light came back. The truck shifts fine when the overdrive light does not blink, but when it blinks it shifts hard. I need some help, what else could it be. 2000 f-250 4x4 v10

Same thing on my 97, the computer locks out the torque converter, thus the harsh shifts. It basically puts it into a protective mode until you can get the codes read. In my case it was a slipping converter. Had to get the converter replaced.

Same thing happened on my '99, it would shift fine until the light started blinking and then shifted hard. Took it to the dealer and the Torque converter was gone. Replaced and everything worked as advertised.
