all of a sudden my email address has been flooded with messages from real estate agents, and some food catering place thanking me for requesting info, and a few magazines thanking me for signing up for a free issue! theres 2 from real estate agents thanking me for looking into homes in Oregon! now i certainly havent done this,or requested info from anybody! what happened? This is a Yahoo email account by the way,has anything like this happened to anyone else?
Are you in college? I can't even begin to tell you how many free t-shirts I have because of signing up my friends for clubs and information and on and on...we did it to eachother. I'm in the Asian Society of America apparently (I'm Italian), I'm a swim coach, and I teach sewing classes in NJ to little old women. I still get these phone calls.
lol, jdmorg i used to do that in high school as well, cant tell you how many boxes of feminine hygiene products and such got sent to me,but that was a different email account. and Mil1ion,no one i know would do that,my friends dont even know my email address,i mainly use that email for online purchases or job hunting. hope this stops, ive gotten 12 emails from stuff like i mentioned in the past 5 minutes
Have you filled out any type of , warranty, questionaire or coupon type offer. I started to fill out a coupon offer and cancelled half way through process and I still get 200 or so emails a day because of it on my yahoo account. To this day I can not figure out why because I backed out the data, somehow it still went through. I knew it was a scam as soon as I filled in my email address....
things my have gotten a little more serious,i just got a email saying your request for information to move to dallas TX has been processed, and it said what i submitted and it was my right address and phone number, what should i do about this?
Um, I think you might do well to check your credit reports, and credit cards, bank accounts and any other sensitive personal type stuff. See if ‘you’ have applied for new credit cards, or opened up charge accounts in places you’ve never been.
It may just be identity theft.
Or it may be a joke too, but the Dallas thing is a little to far out for a joke.
Your idenitity has been stolen? Maybe? Check your accounts, close your yahoo account. It's probably all just spam or someone or company "phishing" for more info on you like Social security numbers etc.
Do not reply to any of them, do not unsubscribe them. Close the email account and start another one and watch your credit cards cancel them if you don't feel safe.

I suggest you go with msn.I had to switch to a msn account because of spam and other unpleasent e-mails.also I found out the hard way that yahoo IM can really mess up your computer, and freezes un-wanted,**** on your screen.Hints why I have a new computer now.

Simple use the bulk mail function on yur yahoo account I had this happen it not only deletes the message but reports it as spam and will not allow that stuff to get to your mailbox. Most likely its spam alot of them put things in there like that to get your attention the make them seem like theyre offical but they arent, just designed to get your info so they can send you more stuff. Chances are if you did any online shopping they reported your info to a third party for marketing and so on. To be on the safe side make sure none of the stuff is on your report and if it is be ready to fight it.
