Got the dreaded Jury Duty notice 2 days ago !! filled it out sent it back in,,,had it several years ago too,,,went to the court house,,,was there about an hour when they said "posistions were filled" ,,,,and your Jury Duty obligation was filled for the next several years.
Anybody have a sure fire way to get out of this if I have to go for the interview ,,????
I've heard that if you're deemed mentally unstable to make rational decisions, they won't pick you. Maybe say you sometimes have anger management issues and trouble working peacefully in groups. You can usually tell what people are trying to get at when they interview you... figure out how they'll use the answers you give for certain questions and make yourself seem like a bad idea! Might not work, but it would be pretty funny to witness...
My wife was excused from jury selection because she kept shooting dirty looks at the guy who was on trial. She still had to hang around in the general pool for a couple more days.
i just had it last summer, friggin 3rd time, they told us that it has nothing to do with voting it's all done VIA the census, so bottomline don't fill out the census.
Hmmm....I've been a registered voter for several years now and still haven't gotten to do Jury Duty. What's up with that?!?! I would like to attend to see the whole law process in action.
when they ask you any questions just say you think he/she is guilty or they wouldn't be there
or you could say you are ingaged in relations with the accused LOL
For sure way - tell them that you are friends with the police and believe that guilty parties need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
At that point they know that you are basis. Worked for me.
I've heard if your biased in anyway they don't want you. I use to know a real nice gal who divorced her physically abusive husband. She had to go to jury duty, and the case was about spouse abuse she was excussed on the spot. When we were kids, my mom would load us kids up (3 boys) and tell them if they didn't mind having 3 boys in the courtroom there wouldn't be a problem for her to serve. They didn't want us boys there I guess cause she never served. I always figured that if my time came I'd wear a confederate flag badana or an opininated t-shirt to scare them from picking me.
