I have a 1994 Ford Bronco XLT, and recently I have had problems, such as my front right headlight went out(havent replaced it yet), then about 2 weeks later i got a remote start/security system installed at best buy, the Viper 791XV, (i replace it about 2 days later) it worked well for a little while, but then i go on vacation and i notice when i come home it doesnt work, and no one drove my truck, and now the windshield wipers are acting up, if i turn them on, then off they will just stay where i turned them off not go back down to the default position and if i wash the windshield the wipers will not stop, they will just keep moving till i turn the car off? ANy suggestions or comments please....?
Ok, first off, take it back to Best Buy with ALL of these issues and tell them it didn't have these problems until THEY installed the system. See what you can get them to cover.
Although, I don't honestly think the wiper issue is the fault of the security system or the installers. Those symptoms are typical of failed "park" contacts in the wiper motor. The fix is replacement of the motor since the contacts cannot be obtained without buying the entire motor.
I read this post AFTER reading the post about the door locks. Definitely go to the Best Buy numbskulls for the door lock issue. The problem is more than likely exactly as I posted in the other thread. Any security system worth it salt will disable the door lock switches on these trucks.
