Smile coolant reading

Just checked coolant today with fleetguard test strips, and got a reading of 2.0 as far as I could determine. It says I should change coolant filter, and add additive at next oil change. Should I just drain and refill with new filter, coolant and additive?? 1.5 to 3.0 is within normal range. I don't know where the coolant filter is either. I have a 97 crewcab with 88,000 miles. Please advise. Jeff

Unless you had done some mods you won't have a coolant filter, if you do it will be obvious.

How long has it been since you did flush? If it's time for flush just do that and add DCA as required to get proper reading.

Do a search on this form as well as DIESELSTOP, you need to make sure you get correct coolant, stay away from silicons. Hope this helps you.
