Hey every one I'm a new guy. stumbled on to this great site.

I had a little fender bender to the right front of my 98 ranger 2 wd. the air bag light is now flashing a code 19. does any one know what 19 means or how I can find out.? The air bag did not deploy. I know sometimes codes can be cleared with out repairs and sometimes not.any info will be appreciated.

 

You will need to replace the RCM module. $$

Here are the codes for Air Bag faults. When frist started the dash light will blink the two digit code before it comes on permently.

Continuous (blinks no code)
RCM Disconnected or Inoperative, Loss of Battery Feed, or Loss of

thanks for the code chart. I want to clearify that I get the flashing code 19 5 times then the light stays lit.
Are you saying that code 19 = rcm crash data memory is full, there for the rcm must be replaced? or did you think I ment the light keeps flashing continous?
I would like to try to clear it before I start replacing parts if possible, thanks again for the response!

 

The RCM fault 19 can't be reset, it will need to be replaced. As the checkout goes to each error code in order it will stop at any error it finds. It will not progress to the next code until that error is fixed. So you may have more errors comming as you are only at 19. good luck.
