Rear Wiper Stopped Working?
Rear Wiper Stopped Working on my 98' Explorer.
I replaced the wiper motor but it still doesn't work.
Washer fluid will spray out of it but the wiper won't move.
I checked all connections around the button up front and they all look fine.
What else could be wrong?

What does the fuse page in your owners manual tell you????
If this is wired the same as a 97 theres 2 fuses. Interior fuse panel fuse 23. Power distribution box fuse 2 which is under the hood/drivers side. Could also be a bad relay.

Thanks 87XLT. I checked both the power distribution box and the interior fuse panel. Everything seemed fine. Here is what I finally ended up doing after reading numerous message boards. I realized this is one of the many "common problems" on this ford model. The rear wipers go in and out. Most likely due to the constant banging of the back door/window causing instability in the wiper motor.
So I went back to this new motor I put in and made sure all the connections were tight. I tightened bolts, wrapped tape around the connections and then lightly tapped on the motor with a hammer.
I turned the rear wiper switch "ON" and then turned the car on. Still no reaction, so I closed the back door really hard once. I started to hear somehting from the motor all of a sudden, but the wiper wasn't moving.
I turned the switch back off and wiggled the wiper manually hoping it would "catch". I tightened the rear bolt and then shut the back window swiftly.
It started working after all this FINALLY.
I came to realize though that it is very unstable with the closing/opening of the back door and I need to be very gentle with it now.
This seems to be a common problem and I'm not alone. It is a bad design and Ford knows about it.
Good luck to anyone working on there own wiper problems.
