I was curious, I talked to a dealer in southern Wi. today and he told me that he couldn't order any more 2005's this year. Do you guys think that he has run out of allocation or are the 2005's built out already? I saw somewhere on FTE that it was going to be April 1. Any info would be great! Thanks Future10

I believe the cutoff is still April 1, but we've already been contacted to see if some '05 customer orders could be converted to '06's.

What's all involved with changing an 05 order to an 06 order? Is it just paperwork or do you have to reprice everything? Other than rebates that the 06 probably doesn't have what difference would there be? Thanks Future10

Thumbs up

YEEHAAAA!!! Salesman called late yesterday and said the truck had been there since Friday! Anyway, I'm off to the dealer this morning and will post pics asap. Took a total of 98 days from order date to the arrival notice yesterday. Look for me on the road, I'll be the guy with the BIG smile in the white KR and 'anzan' plates! Thanks to all for your advice and support.

A model year conversion is instigated by Ford if they feel a certain order may not be able to be built in this model year. This is not something the customer can do. Typically, the dealership has to ask for price protection (getting the '06 for the price of the '05). Rebates apply at time of delivery, not time of order, so you've got your crystal ball out on price as well as new model year content.

Where's my Truck

Let's see, I ordered my truck 20 Jan. I don't know when it was actually confirmed, but I was told it was. It'll be 8 weeks this Weds. I have been asking my dealer for a build date etc. They keep telling me that they will check but have not gotten back to me after about 4 calls. I'm about ready to cancel the order and make other arrangements. Is 8 weeks not such a big deal? I actually have my old 85 to drive so I am not in a lack of wheels extremis. I'm just a little impatient ...

Fraank, I waited 98 days for mine. Took delivery last monday and they could not find the packet that came with the truck! Nothing important, just the keys and owners manual!! They had to call in a locksmith to make a key so I could take delivery of the truck. Here it is Sunday and still no owners manual and no factory keys. Why don't they see the same importance in finding the KEYS as I do? Could it be that someone at the dealership has the keys and is waiting for an opportune time to visit my garage? I can't tell you what to do, but, a quality dealership and sales force make all the difference. Good luck...

I got a call yesterday morning from the dealer ... the factory told them that the order was on production hold for the 18 inch rims I asked for. My choice was to wait (who knows how long) or upgrade to a HD or KR. I was about to tell them to stuff it, when I got another call from the dealer telling me that they found my truck at another dealer. My exact order. I was told another dealer had ordered the exact truck and it was built 19 Feb. It actually had a couple of extras I didn't order, but I got it for the price I negoitiated plus a $2k rebate. All in all I got it out the door at invoice. Anyway, after they install the remote starter and detail it I pick it up on Friday. I can't wait ... tomorrow I get to make my last 6 hour round trip to Norfolk, VA in my 85 F250 6.9L. I'm gonna miss her ... maybe not that much !!!!

Hey Fraank-Great news! You'll be cruzin' in the new ride much sooner than a wait for the 18" wheels which will probably be the '06 model. Good luck with the new truck!

I got My Truck!

Wow,

She's a beauty and my girl friend (wife of 23 years), are taking her for a ride today. I can't wait. I had a remote starter put on and really do recommend it for anyone buying a PSD truck. On those cold days when you don't want to go out to start her up ... just two clicks and you're all set. Make sure you leave the heater on when you shut her down the night before. When you jump in .. put the key in the ignition and turn to on and you're all set, nice and toasty.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress in getting to know my new firend.

2005 F250 SD 4x4 Lariat SC, LWB. Lariat luxery package, snow plow prep, camper package, upfitter switches, ESOF, remote start, clearance lights, RSS, dark stone two tone, 6.0L PSD, torqshift 5 speed, Fx4 package, tow command system

Awsome!!!!

Fraank, She sure sounds pretty...and now you don't have to wait 'till '06 or whenever! I've already got 1100 mi. on mine but am keeping it in the garage 'till the rain is over(unless the rain lasts longer than a day or so). Enjoy that drive today with your sweetie.

I have a Lariat on order now....what does PRIORITY 10 actually mean? That is what shows up on my order form. Is there anything else on the order confiramtion that will give me any insight as to when I should expect my order?
Like others here, I place little to no reliance on what the salesman has to say. Shoot, he couldn't even get my order right. Glad I checked his work.

Please advise what PRIORITY 10 means. Thanks.

[QUOTE=polarbear]Could someone explain the hierachy of the "priotity code"?
thanxs as always... FTE is the best for us less informed :-) I have a priority 15... I hope that's good!

The priority codes exist to keep the dealership sane, so the number per se doesn't mean anything. We can "stack" orders in our preference of them being placed for production. This doesn't mean they actually appear in that order (option/model constraints will affect the process). You'd have to see the whole dealerships order bank to see how that priority code fits in.

This is on page two of this thread...hope it helps.
