What kind of fuel mileage do you get. I know, power is relevant to fuel consumption.
I would like to build something with adequate power w/o suck down 15gal/mi. no thats not a typo. I don't Realy need a lot of power all the time, jus some extra when I mash it.

Ouch. You have a 4spd or an auto? With my salary and as much as I drive
12 mpg wouldn't cut it. I start cussing at when I get that low. I've seen as much as
16 on the highway, but that's not often

300 HP can be had from 300 Six. Just takes a lot more work. 275 lb/ft is attainable fairly easily from 300 six. If you want MPG then stick with the six. I've seen a few that were worked over a little that returned 18-20 MPG at 55 MPH with O.D. man trans. The 351C will work, but 12-14 MPG will be pretty average.

jfinlen, I suppose the OD tranny you speak of is the ZF 5spd? I would like to upgrade to a 5spd. someday, but aren't they a bit high? My 300 six now typically gets 12-15 mpg, 18-20 would be great. The real question is how much will I see when I have a 4" lift w/ 33's or 35's?
