Where is your engine grounded?
I have a 72 F-100 custom with a 360. There is a cable going directly from the negative terminal of the battery to the block bolted by a large bolt on the side of the block just behind and under the alternator. Then there is another short cable from the left-rear intake manifold bolt to the firewall.
Is this how all of your trucks are hooked up? The manifold bolt seems a bit odd to me, and the bolt on the block seems like it's there for something else as it's an awfully large gauge bolt.
