The seller from which I purchased my 1985 F-250 in my signature from told me of a windshield leak when it rains. It only leaks while it's sitting, not while you're driving down the road.
He had a new windshield and seal installed and the leak continued. He then had them to re-seal the new windshield... Still, the leak remained.
Here's what I noticed yesterday... We had some moderate rainfall the entire day. When I got home, I opened the door and the floor mats had water on them. I progressed to jump inside and investigate the problem. The entire upper windshield facia/interior cover panel was damp with water droplets forming. When I started the truck and drove it down the road, it never leaked another drop! As long as the truck is moving, it doesn't leak. But, when it's sitting, better open up the umbrella!
I know that this is VERY wierd indeed, but I would like to know how to fix it, if possible.
I had a similar leak and found it by applying a small stream of water from a hose applied around the outside of the windshield.
You will have to remove some trim to locate the leak, but you will find it. Start low and work your way up. Once the leak is found, some silicone should fix it.
i had the same leak.
I removed the upper plastic piece and were the windshield meets the cab i put some silicon RTV put the cover back on Can't see the Blue RTV inside or out and it don't leak
No, this truck doesn't have the roof clearance lights. I wish it did though!
I stood on my tippy-toes the other day and looked at the top of the windshield. There is a small "gap" between the plastic "chrome" trim and the body of the truck about middle ways across the roof. I'm thinking that's where it is, but I could be wrong. I'll fix it tomorrow!!
Thanks again!

I'm attempting this repair today. But, I have one little question... How hard is it to get that top plastic chrome trim off from around the windshield?
I have a 95 f250 that when I bought it also leaked water in only when it sat ,so itook the crome molding off the windshield, their is a special tool you need to remove the molding so you don't break the clips, it's shaped like "T" ,then remove the panel underneath it the windsheild it has about a dozen or so screws & clean out the leaves & junk that build up after time ,also the to the side of the fenders where there is drains toward the lower inner have to be cleaned out to ,cause they get clogged too-this fixed my leak
