F-Series Windshield Trim Removal and Paint Question

I am wanting to remove the windshield trim from my 1994 F-150 so that I can get good paint coverage underneath it. But, I don't know where to begin on taking it off...

Also, when it is off, would it be difficult to paint and actually get the paint to stick to it? I'm still unsure whether it's aluminum or stainless steel...

What I'm wanting to do is paint it black and clear it, along with the rest of the truck...

Thanks for any insight!

If your trim is the same as my 88 I have posted a couple of pictures in my gallery showing a removal tool and the clips. I started removal on the top first ,then the sides and the bottom piece last. There is a trim paint available at the body shop suppliers . It has more of a satin finish. Not sure if the high gloss around the windshield will give you some glare problems. I have never painted stainless trim but it should be scuffed up really well for the paint to stick.
