Towing Capacity?
I have a sb '84 F-150 4X4, 351HO 4bbl, C-6, and a 3:50 rear. How much could I SAFELY tow with this truck? I'm sure the factory rating is in the 5000 lb range, but is that realistic? I'm considering a camper that tips the scales at around 4400 lb. It'll be equipped with trailer brakes, and see lots of different roads. I tow a car trailer with it frequently enough, but there is a difference in the way the short bed and my old long bed felt when towing. It's in great mechanical shape, just wondering about your experiences. TIA!
