Same happend to me, and from this forum, learned that the 3-2 (or 2-3) blink means that your clock-spring mechanism inside the stering column is busted. Don't know what that means, other than the airbag won't work, but here in Texas apparently you don't need an airbag for an inspection certificate. I just watch mine blink.
Is it true that the light is programed to start blinking so the dealership can get you in to service your wallet? A friend said to just put a strip of black tape over it.
My '94 F-150 blinked a 32 for a long time. The horn also would not work. It's not pre-programmed. Something broke. The clock spring is a very likely culprit. I just never had my truck looked at to find out for sure.
clock-spring mechanism inside the stering column is what wiring from the air bag, horn, etc. to be able stay connected while you turn your steering wheel.(simple wording explination)
On my 95 E-150, I had to fix the parking brake cable. While reinstalling the foot pedal assembly, the sharp edge of it nicked a wire in the bundle coming from the steering column, causing a few sparks. Now I get the blinking seat belt lite. I just put black tape over it, and hope I never need it.
