I have heard that Pond makes a good block but have been unable to locate one on the web. Does anyone know how much they cost and if they are better quality then the Genesis blocks?
Both the Genesis and Pond blocks are selling for around $3300-3500. The block still needs to be final machined however which adds another $500. Keith Craft racing sells both of these blocks machined ready to build. The aluminum blocks are about another $1000 on top of this. I've heard so many different prices over the past few months and also the Dove mfg has one coming out also. Being these are both new items feedback has been slow but both appear to be very good. I'm still not sure the differences between the two myself though. They both sport the C5AE-H sideoiler casting number and are both sideoiler blocks. I'd give KC a call and talk to him directly. I'm sure he can fill you in on the details. G.
The Ford Motorsport catalog also lists the Genesis 427, although the price list in the back of the catalog does not give a price. I was eyeballing this one myself then thought...HMMMM, that's got to be at least $3000 JUST for the block. I don't need a 427+ inch FE that bad.
