engine code p0430
Hey guys, I have an engine code P0430. Auto Zone printed out the code and reads "the PCM has determined that the catalyst system efficiency for Bank 2 is below threshold for the current engine operation condition". I looked up the code in my Ford CD manual and found numerous possiblities. One of the possibilities could be 02 sensor or downstream O2 sensor wiring. I want to replace all O2 sensor, according to the manual theres only 2 O2 sensor but Auto Zone says there are 4. Who is right? At $60 a sensor, I want to buy what I need. Please guide me to into the right direction. Thanks

There are 4, two aft of the exhaust manifold and two aft of the cats. Get yourself and $11 Haynes manual from Autozone, it will benefit you greatly and has the codes in it. I don't know what yr you have, but it sounds like a possible clogged cat.

It is most likely neither a bad sensor or a plugged cat.
Most likely, the cat is just tired.
If you are under 8 years/80K miles, check with your dealer as you would most likely still be under your federal emissions warranty.
