His Cruise Control shorted out and the vapor's from the transmission oil caused the EXPLOSION - that's the story the Fire Department said and was confirmed by Ford and Investigators. His truck had been parked outside in the driveway over 6 hours prior to the incident.
No need to panic, they're saying that Ford will disconnect the switch(as in no power, no problems) until they get the part in. Like Industrialjunk said "get over it and move on.

Smells like BS to me, vapor's from the transmission oil caused the EXPLOSION you have to get that oil super heated to even burn but can't explode unless you saw it on TV then it must be real.

It does suck when you are the one to get the bad "one". All machines are prone to failure as they are made by humans, it's that simple.

In the article, they mention that 63 vehicles burned up out of the 792,000 trucks with the same cruise module, that figures out to .00795% or eight tenths of a percent.

You have a better chance of your vehicle catching fire at the gas pump than your truck starting on fire from this module.
