Identify 2 Pully Generator?

O.K. here'ss the short story. I've been gathering parts to add Power Steering and Air conditioning to my 55 F100

I found a generator with a Small Double Pully that seemed like it would help. It's about 2 1/2" Dia. Thought the small dia. might help generate alittle more juice.

I don't see any part numbers on the generator? I don't even know how to determine if it's a 6v or12V generator. it's clean and in good visual shape.

have another generator with a 3 5/8" single pully.

Lastly does anybody have a belt diagram for a Y- with Power Steering, I'm going with an early aftermarket A/C bracket that uses a Std. York Compressor.

Thanks be heard for all that have helped, David

Gonna restate my question to push this thread back up the board.

1) How do i determine whether my generator is a 6V or 12V? I don't see any part numbers on the generator?

2) Does anybody have a belt diagram for a Y- with Power Steering and A/C? or can you refer me to this information?

Thx. David

Dave,

I just bought a '58 F-100 with a 292. In the future I want to power brakes, power steering and air conditioning. I'll need compressor brackets, etc. A search of this list for Y block brackets wasn't very fruitful. So, I'm responding to you just to refreash the post.

Thanks, Dave

Original brackets can be hard to find. There were a more than a few different setups between the Tbird and full size Ford cars with Y block engines. It can be a puzzle. I was lucky and located parts on eBay a couple of years ago when demand was low and so were the prices. If you can find junk yards that don't crush in your area you might find them. The original cast iron crank pulley with 2 grooves and a bolt on 3rd pulley is what I have with a 2 groove waterpump pulley. I did find a manufactured alternator bracket which helped a lot. Look in the thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=379883 to see pics of my 292 with these parts installed, also in my gallery. The power steering bracket is available from Tbird vendors.

Also many of the vendors that make the airconditioners sell compressor brakets to fit the 292. It is usually a combined compressor and alternator bracket. www.rodncustom.com has this type bracket for $119.99 to mount a Sanden or Sakyo 508 compressor and a GM alternator. The original power steering brackets are a 3 piece set from the Tbird and large Ford cars. here is a link to a pic of the power steering from a Ford Parts Catalog. http://www.clubfte.com/users/rogerf100/psbracket.jpg
There you can see how the brackets fit.

David,

I don't have a belt diagram for the y-block, but would these pictures help make things a little more clear?

Best regards,
Lucas (Lobo)

PS I have these pictures in "super size", if you want.
And I can also take some more pictures of the AC bracket if you need.
