My mom just purchased a 2004 used Expedition. It has about 3000 miles on it so it is very close to new. The dealer does not know what the keypad code is for the keyless entry. They are telling her it will cost $100 to reprogram. Is there a way for her to reprogram it when she doesn't know the code?
Do search here. Sometimes it is written or printed on the vehicle somehwere. It may take a bit of a contortionist act to see the code under & behind the dash though.
The search will tell you how others have found it.
Crumm - you're right. There seems to be something wrong with the search function. I tried to search "Revo". Should have come up with dozens of hits and it didn't.
I have a 2000, so I'm not able to help with your '04, but hopefully bumping this back to the top will help with both your question and the search issue.
Look under drivers side of the dash along the side there is a black box that has a white lable with #s on it that is the code for the keypad
The box is a little hard to see but its there
That is where it is on my 99 Expedition
My brother-in-law just bought an '02 and the salesman found it in the same place. He said they are all under the dash on the driver's side written on the computer box. Hope this helps!!

I'd find another dealer, and never take a car to that dealer again!

That is the latest plan. The Ford dealer she bought it from is the one that wants to charge her $100. When she was dealing on it the salesman was giving her the runaround and then started in how the Explorer she has with 140,000 miles is on its last leg and she better get a new vehicle before she drives another mile. She got mad and left. A few days later I called the dealer (from 3000 miles away) and told the sales manager how the deal was going to be, take it or leave it. He took it and now they say they sold it so cheap they would be taking a bigger loss if they retrieved the code for free. She is going to take it to another dealer and see if they will tell her the code. She has searched high and low for the elusive black box with the number and cannot find it.
I found mine for free today! I have a 99 and found the code under the drivers dash behind th emergency brake. Up under there, there was a white computer looking box that had writing on it like, ELECTRONICS, made in Canada, Ford Motor Co., etc. and on that box was a five digit number, 35519, ..... Sure enough, it worked! I had a flash light under there to see it though.
Wish I had that code last week when loaned my exp to my bro in law. He thought he'd warm it up and lock it thinking he would unlock it after it was warmed up with the remote, guess what, the remote will not open it when it's running. Safety feature I guess. So he called me at 7:00AM on my day off.
Your welcome crumm.. By the way, there is an extra key hidden at the bottom of the console.. Once your in, you can drive away. That is, as soon as you figure out where it's parked.
i just got an o3 used. my dealer wants 85 dollars. he said it is standard. ive looked for 2 days i am almost ready to pay the price. I am a new Expdy guy. I had a truck for years now im hooked on my Expdy, i think why did i waits o long. Just still miffed about the keypad entry code.
