Your F150's code means a 3.55 ratio with an open differential (no limited slip). Rear axle is a Ford 8.8". If it's 4wd, the front axle is a Dana 44 TTB (twin traction beam).
The 84 Bronco rear axle should be a Ford 9". The front is the same as the F150 4wd. Sorry, I don't recognize code UY.
THanks for the info, I screwed up on the UY, all the characters on the jamb sticker are shifted ove one place for some reason. It has a 19 code also on the Bronco. It has the Clark 4 w/overdrive, not bad but needs a locker in the rear.
And the F150 is a 4wd also, I thought it had a limited slip rear end in it. Both rear wheels seem to get good traction and i'm pretty sure it is original.
I don't know much about this tranny, I just got the truck recently. A guy was needing money badly, you know the story. Motor recently been through, new flowmasters, 3inch lift, 31" new rubber, all reciepts in the glove box. 1200 bucks.
The granny in this box is really low compared to the F-150, the overdrive has been great on the highway. I have taken the truck on two trips roundtripping over 800 miles, great gas and no troubles. THe tranny is a little sloppy in the shifter though and starting to make a whining noise in 1st and 2nd. It has 167,000 miles on it, probably time for an overhaul on it.
It has a granny and an overdrive? That's interesting... Is this tranny aluminum case or iron? One-piece case/bellhousing, or seperate bellhousing? Where is the location of the reverse gear on the shifter?
The tranny is seperate from the bell housing, it is cast iron and reverse is down and all the way right..

It is the first tranny I have ever seen like it and have driven standards, mostly Fords, all my life. It is also the lowest Granny I have ever driven. Low-loc and Granny is prob 2-4mph at 2500 rpm.
Hmmm.... That tranny has me scratching my head... The description sounds like it could be an NP435 or T18, but not with an overdrive gear. There are a few overdrive 4-speeds, but none that I know of with a granny low first. Does this transmission have a PTO access plate on it? If so, what side? Does the shifter come out the top of the case or does it shift off the side? Any other distinguishing markings on it? Is it full-synchro or only synchro'd on 2, 3 and 4? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really interested in this cool transmission!
You said the t-case has 'Lo-Loc'. Do you mean that like an NP203 full-time case? That '84 Bronco should have an NP208 part-time case if I remember correctly. Of course if has been swapped it could be anything....

I'll see what I can dig up about it. Still sounds really interesting! I'd imagine with that wide of ratio spread in a 4spd, you must have to really wind it out in each gear!? Thanks for posting those details.
