How to use a buffer

I am trying to polish out/buff out my aluminum fuel tanks, wheels, and deck plate on my 03 Pete. How, what type wheels, speed of buffer, what type of polish, jewelers rouge - what color? Is there someplace to tell me how to buff aluminum and what to use? Any help would be appreciated!! dave

I just use a couple 6" buffers to polish our Kenworth. I put the blue cover on one for applying the polish and the terry cover on the other for taking it off when the polish is dry. I also keep a rag and terrycloth hand towel on hand for the areas the buffers won't reach. I found a 2 part alum. polish/wax at the Daytona show and it works great. I think it's called Busch's but I can't get to it right now to check. I'm sure any 2 part polish/wax would work just as well. It's a lot of extra work putting on a polish and then a wax, but it keeps the dump truck looking good for a few months. Our dump box is aluminium so I don't want to have to polish it that often.

Have fun and when you get done with your truck, you can come help me with ours.
