Look for scratch/swirl and haze remover. Any name brand like Mothers or Meguiars will work. You will have to apply wax after applying and rubbing out.

This is my neighbor's product, he's been doing detailing for 25+ years. I would look at something he carries, cause his water spot remover is amazing, ask Clay! His non abrasive metal polish is also awesome, as well as his Top Wax. That's all the experience I have with of his products so far, but man they work great. I would shoot him an email or call him, Mike will hook you up or let you know what is needed.

when using the scratch/swirl and haze remover do you use the buffer or do it by hand?

Depends. If I have a small area I just do it by hand. If I am doing this on a whole car/truck I use my Porter-Cable 6" Orbital Sander with a Wax/Polish Bonnet. It is variable speed so it does good on the slow speeds. IIRC I paid a little over $120 for it at Lowes.

hard water spots

This stuff is amazing. My tinted windows were bad, it it took it off like nothing. Also, I removed my bug shield, there was water spots that I couldn't get out with rubbing compound, a couple of swipes with this stuff and they were gone!

I honestly would have it polished with a straight drive polisher then wax. Any wax will only hide really fine cobwebbing (scratches). Best to knock the scratches out rather than hide them.

I have used Layson's 3 step Adams polishing kit with random orbital buffer. My truck is dark green and had some sage brush scratches. When finished you can not see most of the scratches, works well.
