Electrical Problem

Hi! I own a 1996 F-150 with a 5.0 liter engine. Iam having trouble with

the lights dimming when motor is at idle speed and/or pushing power

windows buttons. I have a new battery and alternator. What could be

the problem? I am not a mechanic. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Where did you get the alternator ? It's a remote possibliity that it isn't good. In my life I've purchased 2 alternators from auto parts stores (one was local another was Schmucks) that turned out to be bad...Check the voltage at the battery while the trk is idling and report back - I'm sure it should be > 12 but someone here should know exactly what it should be. Other than your belt slipping I don't know enough to offer anything else...
