Question Wiring Question

First I would like to say that I am a mechanic however I do not have a lot of access to ford manuals. Here is my trouble. I hooked up a remote start unit on my 01 f-150 Screw. Now when I have the ignition on with the key in the ignition and I put the truck in gear, drive or reverse my radio cuts out. When I return the trans to park or neutral the radio comes back on, however the 4x4 lamp illuminates for a second. I have tested all the wiring and it appears to be correct. This even occurs when I have the remote starts wiring harness for door locks and security disconnected. So all that is hooked up is the power, acc, ground, tach, and hood pin. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The outfit I bought it from is not keen on trying to help me out. They want me to bring it in so they can "reinstall it correctly". Man is it frusturating. Thanks again.

It would seem that I have apoor ground within the remote start unit. After extensive testing it started to work.
